Category: General Plant oak trees at Heritage Village Park

September 16, 2017 9:00 am - 11:00 am

Volunteers are needed on September 16th, 2017, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM to lend a hand working along side FMR staff to plant, mulch, and water Oak trees. This planting, taking place at Heritage Village Park. will help transform a portion of the site into an Oak savanna, one of Minnesota's rare plant communities.

Located just 15 minutes south of St. Paul in Inver Grove Heights, Heritage Village Park is a 50-acre site on the banks of the Mississippi River. Since 2005, Friends of the Mississippi River has been making progress restoring native habitats to the site with the help of volunteers and community engagement.

As always, all are welcome and encouraged to work at their own comfort level. All tools and training will be provided.

To ensure a high-quality experience, capacity is limited and pre-registration required. Registration closes Thursday, September 14th, or upon reaching capacity.
