The Carver-Scott Extension Master Gardeners present a delightful day filled with expert speakers and curated sessions to learn about the place of gardening in a changing future. This day has something for everyone. You’ll also enjoy a delicious buffet lunch, door prizes, silent auction items, and garden-related products sold by local vendors.
Experts include Prof. Lee Frelich, Director of the University of Minnesota’s Center for Forest Ecology; Stan Tekiela, popular naturalist, wildlife photographer, and author of many best-selling field guides on wildflowers, birds, and trees; Beth Dooley, well-known food writer, restaurant critic, and author of Minnesota's Bounty: The Farmer's Market Cookbook; as well as University of Minnesota Extension educators and our own master gardeners. Varied topics include Climate Change and Minnesota Ecosystems; Uncommon Facts about Common Birds; What to do with Backyard Bounty; Invasive Insects in Minnesota; Watering Wisely; Ornamental Plant Selection and Garden Design Tips; Energy Saving Landscapes; and Tiny Earthworms, Big Impact.
