Bring your clean, gently used items to 2129 Commonwealth Ave. Then come and "shop" for new items on Saturday, February 23, 11:00 AM - 3:00 PM. Would you like to volunteer to organize the donations or help "shoppers" the day of? If so, please contact Kat Reynolds.

Join Climate Generation staff as they embark on a Zero Waste Challenge for ten days in March! March 11–20, we will try to live up to the hashtag #CGwastewatchers by making deliberate choices about our consumption.

Why would a climate change organization focus on zero waste, you may ask?

    1. Many single-use packaging items contain toxins that leach into food and water.
    2. Plastic pollution in our waterways is becoming more difficult to clean up and more hazardous to wildlife, fresh drinking water, ecosystems, and our bodies.
    3. Extracting more oil, building more pipelines, and producing more plastic is only going to increase pollution and accelerate the effects of climate change.
    4. One of our favorite reads of the year, Drawdown, lists focusing on solutions around our use of materials, including recycling, composting, and reducing food waste, would result in 111.78 GIGATONS REDUCED CO2 and $1.04 TRILLION NET OPERATIONAL SAVINGS globally!
    5. Collective action is just plain fun!

    March 20, 2019

Beer, bees, and solar farm honey—what’s not to love? Bringing together a few of the world’s greatest things, Fresh Energy pairs up with the craft beer brewers at 56 Brewing who are back at it again with their deliciously crisp (and strong!) IPA brewed with honey from pollinator-friendly solar arrays. Owners and brewers Kale Johnson and Nick Chute drew on inspiration from the farm-to-table innovators at Spoon and Stable to create a perfectly crushable, hoppy beer—just in time to welcome warmer weather. Join us at 56 Brewing’s garden to growler taproom for this special event where we’ll celebrate the bees with a special tasting of Solarama Crush.

A variety of beer, kombucha and soda will be available for purchase. Proceeds from the happy hour will be donated to Fresh Energy. All are welcome to join us at this free event. Registration is encouraged but not required. Let’s raise one—or two—to the bees!
